Had a walkthrough today helping my sisters pick their future apartment and was absolutely astounded by our leasing agent!! Katherin Newcomer -she went above and beyond for us. She answered every question, was so patient and kind! Just can’t say enough about how wonderful she made the experience! I would feel 10/10 comfortability with my sisters selecting this property knowing there is someone like Katherine at the office to support them!

It will be two years in June since I’ve lived here at The Mills, and I couldn’t be happier with the service I’ve received since Bell Partners has taken over. This property was handed over to them in shambles, my roof leaked profusely whenever it rained, my HVAC system was a mess, I lost air in the summer and heat in the winter. I was provided with an a/c until my new unit came in three days later, my heat was fixed the same night. It took Lauren less than 24 hours to get on the phone and get an approved vendor out for the roof that next week. I have maybe placed a total of 5 work orders since I’ve lived here and the team gets right on it, just today Josh was here in about 3 min after I spoke with Lauren! Rent prices are outrageous everywhere you go this isn’t 2002 where the rent is $850. You will not find this price for the space I have in a one bedroom anywhere in Greenville, let alone the amenities, resident events, and the warm welcome you receive when you walk through the door. ( Thanks Jerri!). The gates will work if other residents wouldn't go in and out the wrong way, if you don’t understand electronics there is a sensor that flips each and every time someone goes in and out the wrong way so the gates get confused, these are very complex and expensive things to fix. I was a little upset when I saw the extra trash fee on my account, I went to discuss this with office and Lauren explained the extra and pointed it out to me in the lease that I had renewed and signed off on ( go figure!) 🤷🏽‍♀️. Needless to say, the ladies in the office (Katie, Jerri, Lauren) are always here to help in any way they can, and the guys are always working extremely hard to keep our homes well kept and the community in top shape. Thanks for all you do! Happy Holidays!

Service has improved markedly since Bell Partners assumed the property management at the Mills. Friendly, responsive Management (Lauren, Kathleen and Matthew) who actually listen and take action is welcome. Property improvements (new exterior lighting on buildings and throughout the parking areas, replacement trash compactor, persistent efforts to make neighborhood entrance gates function properly - keep it up!, and others I’m surely unaware of) demonstrate management commitment to our community. Only the lack of progress on the dog waste issue argues against the 5th star.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Lease Terms and Discrimination I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning matter related to our tenancy at the property recently acquired by Bell Partners. Since the transition of management approximately two years ago, we have experienced a notable increase in our rent, now amounting to a significant rise of $400. Our current lease, set to end on December 16, 2023, prompted us to engage with the current property manager, Lauren, a few months ago. Respectfully, we requested a rent adjustment to align with the prevailing market rate, proposing a figure of $1400. Regrettably, Lauren expressed her inability to accommodate our request, citing the terms of our previous 9-month lease as the determining factor. Despite our efforts to negotiate a fair resolution, she insisted on maintaining the current rate of nearly $1800. Subsequently, upon expressing our intention to vacate the premises, we were surprised to discover that our unit had been promptly listed for rent at $1403, available from December 19. When we inquired about the possibility of securing the unit at the same rate offered to the public, Lauren informed us that this was not feasible. She suggested the only recourse would be to reapply for the unit, necessitating a temporary relocation. It doesn't make sense that, as a family of five with three children, all under the age of four, we would essentially be required to experience homelessness for two days just to secure a lower rental rate when they could just send us a renewal offer with the new price reflecting the $1403 for a new 15 month lease. This proposal, which requires us to place our belongings in storage for two days, presents a significant inconvenience and raises concerns about the professionalism of such an arrangement. Despite being loyal tenants who consistently adhered to lease agreements and paid rent punctually, we cannot help but feel that our status as foreign individuals has influenced the treatment we are receiving. I find it disheartening that, as tenants, we are faced with what appears to be discrimination based on our nationality. This treatment is not only unjust but also raises questions about the ethical standards of the current management under Bell Partners. In light of these circumstances, we feel compelled to inform you that we are contemplating legal action to address this matter. We believe that such discriminatory practices have no place in a professional leasing environment, and we trust that this issue will be addressed promptly and effectively. Overall, I’d like to say there are unqualified staff at the Mills leasing office—individuals who possess, at the very least, basic literacy skills—would likely find this decision perplexing. It raises questions about the transparency and coherence of the leasing process. Furthermore, it remains uncertain whether Bell Partners, as the overseeing company, is cognizant of these irregularities at the Mills property. The collective management, inclusive of both the manager and associates, seems implicated in the handling of affairs at the Mills. This experience stands out as remarkably abnormal in the entirety of my life. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Horan Nassar & Amanda Gomez

After initially intending to withhold my concerns, I find it necessary to express my dissatisfaction, especially in light of the numerous negative reviews I have come across. One particularly perplexing suggestion from Lauren was to consider a month-to-month arrangement at the exorbitant rate of $2600, purportedly to facilitate a transfer to another unit without incurring an application fee – a proposal that borders on the absurd. During my tenure at The Mills, I have actively referred two individuals who subsequently became tenants at the property. However, given the treatment I am currently experiencing, I cannot, in good conscience, encourage them to renew their leases. The perpetual issues with the gate, persistently in disrepair, and the apparent disregard for potential mold growth in my apartment, left unaddressed but merely painted over, further contribute to my dissatisfaction. The recurrent hikes in rent prices only exacerbate my discontent, and I must candidly admit feeling discriminated against. Regrettably, I am advising my friends to vacate the premises when their leases expire. It is disheartening to witness Bell Partners treat their tenants in such a manner. Shame on them for subjecting individuals to these conditions.
